New year resolution for hive: reply to Dreemport January challenge

As a lady who comes from a society that believes a female child can't be more successful than a male child, I have outlined some goals I'm willing to achieve before 2024 comes to an end. There are some goals I wished to achieve last year that I couldn't that I would love to achieve this year. The hive blockchain is a platform that has helped me reach out to the world beyond my imagination. Hive has announced my ability to the world not limiting me to my country alone. Some communities are topnotch on hive blockchain which I wish participated more in but I couldn't do so last year due to some reasons. Hive has lots of activities that one can learn as well as earn from. I learned from Hive that learning never ends, the more you work harder to achieve more knowledge, the more successful you become in your journey on this platform.

As humans, we tend to make plans and new resolutions every new year, things we would love to achieve in the new year. But as the popular saying that, "Man proposes but God disposes", sometimes things don't work as planned and we get tired and frustrated with everything. There are times we give up on those goals we have set due to the inability to pursue them or because of one challenge or the other that we might face in the process of getting all the set goals achieved. Just as with any other human, I made my resolutions for the new year too, things I wanted to get done before the year 2024 came to an end. I enumerated some goals that I would love to achieve on the hive blockchain this year.

MY SET GOALS FOR THE YEAR

A person going into a business or a career without a goal will be stranded later in the business, the reason why people fail at times is not because of indiscipline but because of not setting one goal right from the start. When we make mistakes, it is for us to learn from them and never repeat them, this is why I have outlined my goals for Hive for the year 2024. Ignorance times are the reason for failure, this is why as humans we must yearn for knowledge, ask questions, and take calculated risks.

• Improve my writing skills:- my first goal is to improve my writing skills and learn more ways in which I can make my write-ups more interesting to read, I want to be more knowledgeable on what Hive is all about. I want to read more and learn more, broaden my horizon on hive blockchain. I want to be able to come up with articles that will educate more people and share my thoughts and ideas with the world at large.

• Active Engagement:- I want to improve my engagement both in communities and in other authors' writeups. Last year I couldn't participate well in some communities because of my tight schedules, and this made me put this on my hive-set goal for this year.

• Grow my hive power:- when I began my journey on the hive, I didn't take growing my hive power seriously because I didn't know its importance. Last year my hive power was at 436.937, and I'm willing to grow it to more than 1000 this year. This might be a bit difficult if my engagement is poor but I will try as much as possible to get it done.

• Increasing my knowledge:- another goal for Hive this year is to improve my knowledge of the Hive blockchain generally, I can say I say I know just 40% of what Hive is all about. That isn't a passing mark which means I need to broaden my knowledge if I want to succeed in the hive blockchain. Having more knowledge will make it easy for me to navigate my way and be more active on the blockchain thereby bringing good news to the masses.

• Introducing newbies:- I can only tell people what I know about because bringing a newbie into the system without me having adequate knowledge to explain to him or her will later lead to frustration which might discourage such an individual. A newbie will ask a million questions that I can't answer if I don't know much about what I'm introducing to the world. My goal this year is to onboard as many newbies as possible, sharing the importance of hive blockchain with the masses.

WAYS TO ACHIEVE MY GOALS

For me to achieve all the goals I outlined above, some factors need to be put in place. Failure to put these factors into action will leave all my goals dormant and that may leave me stagnant which I don't want. Here are some factors that will serve as driving forces to achieve my set goals.

• Consistency:- at some point, I do get tired and want to give up but with consistency, it will be easy for me to push myself harder to achieve my goals. The unrelenting effort to be the best and to always keep on trying will make my goals easy to achieve.

• Focus:- being focused and disciplined might look alike but it's two different factors, you might be disciplined and not be focused. Staying focused in the sense that you know what your goals are and no matter the obstacles you might encounter on the way to achieving them, you are ready to fight them all and achieve your goals.

Humility:- someone might be wondering what has humility to do with this, it has a lot to do. Many are finding it difficult to pilot the ship of their success today because of pride. They can't learn from someone younger but more experienced than they are, some people believe that age is an achievement. For anyone who wants to succeed in his or her career or business, humility is a very important factor. So for me to achieve my set goals I'm ready to learn from whoever will teach me.

POSSIBLE CHALLENGES

In achieving these goals, I might be facing some challenges that might stand as a stumbling block on my way. I have to highlight these challenges so that I will work towards tackling them all. Challenges such as:-

• Poor engagement

• Failure to follow community rules and guidelines

• plagiarism

• Wrong sourcing of images

• Low quality posts

If all these challenges are well-treated then, I am on a smooth road to achieving all my goals. If we are halfway into 2024 and all these goals seem impossible, It would have been expected of me to give up and let go of the goals then decide to pick it up again in the coming year. In case this happens, I have highlighted some possible solutions that would help me make good use of the remaining half of the year to get it done.
